Medibalm

45% Jellybush MGO1000+

Our medical grade Organic Jellybush honey MGO1000+ is amazing for wound care. We set out to make a topical balm that would utilise all of the amazing qualities of Jellybush, without the sticky mess of the pure honey. We use our organic beeswax and Australian coconut oil as a carrier and barrier for the Jellybush, zinc oxide for thickening and added antibacterial qualities, and cetearyl alcohol (a blend of fatty alcohols that is conditioning, not stripping or drying) to assist the Jellybush honey and beeswax blending together to prevent separating in the harsh Australian summer heat. Medibalm is thick, spreads easily on human skin or animal hair - we have had great success with horses, dogs and chickens - and stays where it needs to be without bandages or wrappings. All the ingredients in Medibalm are food safe.

Antimicrobial means that our balm is antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral, anti protozoic and also effective against anti biotic resistant topical infections.

While Jellybush is safe to use in conjunction with prescription medications, we always recommend checking with your doctor or pharmacist.

We have found the Medibalm effective for but not limited to:

  • dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea

  • nappy rash and heat rash

  • coldsores

  • topical staph infection

  • ringworm

  • burns

  • cuts, scratches, and abrasions

  • itchy bites from mosquitoes and sand flies

Specifically in animals (as well as wound care):

  • In horses: rain rot, greasy heel, seedy toe/thrush, QLD itch, and ringworm

  • In chickens: fungal infections on the comb, wattles and earlobes, and scale mites

  • In dogs: soft paw, common fungal infections, topical staph infections

Please note Medibalm is not safe for cats. As apex predators cats accumulate heavy metals in their kidneys, zinc is a type of metal it is not recommend. We are happy to make a zinc free option for cats by request. Please email us at bowmanfamilyhoney@gmail.com.au or by using the webform on our home page
